OTTAWA. – Armenian ambassador to Canada Armen Yeganyan met with the leader of the Canadian opposition Liberal party, MP Bob Rae on Tuesday.

The sides discussed issues of Armenian-Canadian relations, touched upon the trade-economic cooperation development between the two countries and emphasized in particular the existing strong cultural ties, Armenian MFA reports.

The ambassador introduced the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, claiming the Armenian side expects the world community’s support within the OSCE Minsk Group talk process. The ambassador also stressed that Azerbaijani killer Ramil Safarov’s extradition and release was a failure towards peace process by Azerbaijan. Yeganyan by Rae’s request also introduced normalization attempts of Armenian-Turkish relations, claiming the signed protocols were violated by the Turkish government.
