YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan along with the Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan following the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) executive body session on Thursday approached the participants of the protest in front of the ruling party headquarters, who were the residents of Aram and Byuzand streets and who lost their homes. The residents have turned to various bodies to solve their issue, but with no results so far. This time they gave a letter to the President, who promised to settle the issue.

To note, houses on Aram and Byuzand streets [in downtown Yerevan] were recognized as the supreme interests of the state and were destroyed in 2008, instead elite multi-stored buildings were erected. At the same time the residents were provided neither with proper compensation nor with an apartment.
