YEREVAN. – Husband of a 21-year-old woman kidnapped her after she left him. The husband threatened her with knife, claiming that only death will separate them, the young woman told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

At a younger age she has opposed her parents and married him but days later she started revealing his real face. In 10 months their son was born but even that did not change her husband. On hearing about the Center for the Women’s Rights, she decided to turn to them and filed a divorce to the court. However, her husband kidnapped her, demanded to take back the divorce appeal and to forgive him. However, she manages to get rid of her husband and gets divorced.

All those women who have been subjected to physical, economic or physiologic violence may turn to the Center for Women’s Rights.
