YEREVAN. – Armenian Akhtala City Mayor Haykaz Khachikyan refused to comment on his brother - former MP, former head of the Armenia social fund - Vazgen Khachikyan’s arrest. He replied to the Armenian News-NEWS.am question that he has no information.

Khachikyan’s wife, founder and head of the Armenian Young Women’s Association Lilit Asatryan also refused to comment on the arrest.

To note, former MP, ex-head of the Armenia social fund Vazgen Khachikyan has been detained on suspicion of swindling and embezzlement. In 2010 Khachikyan was dismissed from the post of fund’s head position after Armenian Control Chamber detected flagrant violations during checkups in the fund.
