YEREVAN. – The Armenian Ministry of Diaspora held within the frameworks of the ‘My Armenia’ Pan-Armenian festival an event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the founder of "Araks" Choir Jean Almukhian and to 55 years of his musical activities. He has founded the choir in 1957 and runs it till today. 

The Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan warmly congratulated the composer’s jubilee and thanked him for his great contribution in preserving the Armenian identity far away in Argentina.

Hakobyan rewarded Almukhian with a gold medal of the Ministry.

“I have been in Armenia for many times and held many concerts but this one and the award will carry with honor and inspiration,” Almukhian said.
