Miklos Haraszti, OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, called on the Turkish authorities to bring the Turkish law on Internet to conformity with its commitments to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
According to him, pleading struggle against child pornography, the Turkish authorities blocked the access to 3,700 websites, including YouTube, GeoCities and Google.
The present law on Internet in Turkey not only violates freedom of speech, but also seriously restricts citizens’ right to information, RIA Novosti reported, referring to Miklos Haraszti.
