YEREVAN.- Armenian government’s programs are in compliance with those of the United Nations, outgoing UN  Resident Coordinator in Armenia Dafina Gercheva told reporters on Wednesday.

The government’s program was studied thoroughly and it was revealed that its main goals are in compliance with the UN Development Programme.

Improving the mechanisms of government institutions and their higher efficiency is a priority fully supported by the UN, Gercheva said.

She noted development of industry and foreign trade as key factors to improve standard of living.

The United Nations also attaches importance to democracy strengthening and securing human rights, which is one of the fundamental directions of European policy.

“Armenia is adherent to it,” Gercheva emphasized.
