YEREVAN. – Armenia’s 2013 State Budget draft factors in the present-day macroeconomic indicators, PM Tigran Sargsyan stated Tuesday, during session of the National Assembly standing committees, introducing the Budget.
“At present, we have an approximately 7 percent economic growth, and the budget deficit will be close to 2.8 percent. We are completely fulfilling the Budget’s revenue portion, and we forecast the 2013 budget based on these macroeconomic indicators,” Sargsyan said.
According to the PM, this is the first time that Armenia’s state budget presents not solely the program’s risks, but, also, the measures being taken to prevent them, or their consequences.
As per Sargsyan, the 2013 State Budget is anchored in three principles: Securing a competitive economy, developing human capital, and developing effective institutions. And based on these precepts, there are four target objectives: Maintaining the high economic growth and continuing the diversification of economy; conducting a social policy where radical changes are proposed; improving the business and investment environment; and ensuring a macroeconomic stability.
