BERLIN. – The Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel is for the continuation of talks directed to Turkey’s integration in the EU, she told at a press conference on Wednesday following the meeting with the Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The talks will continue despite the fact that Brussels and Ankara have still some issues to settle, including in particular recognition of Cyprus by Turkey.

Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış who has also arrived in Berlin within the Turkish delegation said that Turkey should join the EU without any pre-conditions. Erdogan in his turn said that Ankara undoubtedly seeks the support and cooperation of Germany, ITAR TASS informs.
