YEREVAN. – Armenia is the European Union’s (EU) strategically important partner, the EU delegation head, Ambassador Traian Hristea stated during Friday’s session of the Armenia and EU Consultation Groups.

In his words, the parties have a common approach on several matters. “I agree that a progress was achieved this year on a number of directions,” the ambassador noted adding that if the talks continue at the same pace, there will be a package of documents next year.

Also, Hristea extended his thanks to the Armenian party for allowing the citizens of Schengen countries a visa-free travel to Armenia. “But the opportunity for deepening relations is not exhausted. We have done a lot for support, [and] Armenia could receive lot more support,” the EU delegation chief stressed.
