YEREVAN. – During its presidency in the Council of Europe, Armenia will try as much as possible to support Belarus so that the country’s interests were observed, Armenian deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan said in Minsk on Tuesday.

“The fact that Armenia is going to preside over the Council of Europe does not mean we should decide everything alone. We are very well aware of how the EU works. Anyway based on our experience and our fair aspiration for Belarus to be involved, we will help to the best of our abilities to ensure that the interests of Belarus were observed,” BELTA quotes Kocharyan.

Armenia will take over chairmanship in the Council of Europe starting from next May.
