PARIS. – French President Francois Hollande has met on Monday with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan. After the meeting both presidents participated in a joint press conference.

“I received my Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan on Monday and we talked about out strong relations ever since 20 years ago and we will continue make efforts to develop them and make more practical and fixed. We run multi-sided cooperation and there is more potential in the mutual economic relations. France is the second investor in Armenia, while over 100 French companies operate in that country, anyway, it is possible to further develop economic relations especially in transportation and agricultural sphere.

We also touched about the most important issue - the Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] peace process. As France is a co-chairing state within the OSCE Minsk Group, it will do everything to bring the talks to the successful end.

We spoke about international issues, including Syria as regional problems refer to Armenia as well, taking into account the Armenian community there and Armenia’s careful position in this context.

And finally I stated how much the French-Armenians are connected to Armenia and I accepted with pleasure Sargsyan’s invitation to visit Armenia next year,” Hollande said.
