Barack Obama is considering Senator John Kerry for a job of the defense secretary, The Washington Post reported.

Leon Panetta decided to resign during Obama’s second term in office. It was expected that Kerry would be appointed to serve as a secretary of state, but a source told newspaper the nomination will go to Susan Rice.

Democrat John Kerry, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is known for his pro-Armenian position. He was among those who supported the Armenian Genocide resolution.
