Japan’s Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda has dissolved the lower house of parliament ahead of the general election scheduled for December 16.
The opinion polls show the main opposition Liberal Democrat Party (LDP) is likely to win the vote. Thus, the opposition leader Shinzo Abe may head the Cabinet of Ministers, RIA Novosti reported.
The lower house was formed after the 2009 elections when Democratic Party won after 50 years of almost unbroken rule by the Liberal Democrat Party.
