GYUMRI. – The Shirak Center submitted on Saturday a letter to Armenian Gyumri city Mayor Samvel Balasanyan offering to make the pre-school education free for the children from the most vulnerable poor families.

As it is known, the vulnerable families live mostly in small house-like buildings with many children or without a father. The Center has conducted studies, which show that children coming from such families are devoid of the chance to get pre-school education due to tuition charges. The phenomenon negatively impacts hundreds of children to provide them with proper cloths and food, as well as securing their parents’ employment. 

The Center turns to the Mayor offering to make the tuition free starting from January 2013 for children of the most vulnerable families.
