YEREVAN. – Armenian National Assembly (NA) Deputy Speaker, and NA Armenia-US Parliamentary Friendship Group leader, Hermine Naghdalyan on Monday met with US Ambassador John Heffern, and US Embassy in Armenia’s Political Affairs diplomat, Christopher Anderson, NA Public and Media Relations Department informs.    

Heffern underscored the need to boost interparliamentary ties and invigorate cooperation. Upon his request, Naghdalyan reflected on interparty relations and those parliamentary processes that aim to strengthen NA’s functions of oversight.  

The interlocutors spoke about Armenia’s past parliamentary and forthcoming presidential elections and the improvements in the country’s Electoral Code, and stressed the need to hold fair, transparent, and competitive elections.

Armenian parliament vice chairwoman Hermine Naghdalyan assured that the country’s political leadership is steadfast on conducting fair and transparent presidential elections in the country.
