YEREVAN.- Armenian Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov said Turkish and Azerbaijani officials seem to be holding a contest of absurd statements.

His comments came in response to the remark by Turkish Speaker Cemil Cicek who called Armenia “an occupant state” which has problems with Turkey and Azerbaijan.

“The statement proves that Turkey continues the policy of bias and lie,” he emphasized. “I want to recall that it was Turkey which committed Genocide against Christian nations – Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians. Turkey has occupied the northern part of EU member, Cyprus, where murderer Safarov was trained.”

He said Turkey has zeroed its relations with neighboring states and provided financial and military aid to Azerbaijan which occupied several territories of NKR.

“The conclusion is it is better to keep silent rather than appear in a ridiculous situation,” he added.
