YEREVAN. – Anthrax ulcer cases are discovered in Akunk village of Vardenis district of Armenia’s Gegharkunik Region, in Hrazdan city, and in Zovuni village of Kotayk Region. The Agriculture Ministry’s State] Service on Food Safety Spokesperson Babken Pipoyan confirmed this information to Hraparak daily’s reporter, the daily writes.    

“To note, quarantine was declared in Akunk village. Four people were transferred to Martuni city hospital on suspicion of anthrax ulcer. The Health Ministry informed our reporter that they have received the necessary [medical] treatment, laboratory studies are conducted.     

As a result, anthrax ulcer germs were discovered in three of the patients. The patients are in satisfactory condition; they are improving. [And] There is a medical watch over the infected animals and all those persons who have gotten into contact with their flesh,” Hraparak writes.
