Official visit of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in Lebanon at a time when the region is in the middle of military actions, has been very well received among the Armenian community in Lebanon, coming as it is kind of moral and psychological support for the community, informed the Armenian News- NEWS.am the chief editor of the Armenian newspaper Azdak Shahan Kandagaryan when summing up the official visit of the President Sargsyan to Lebanon.

According to Kandagaryan, the events in Syria have a direct impact on neighboring Lebanon, however, despite the presence of trigger factors, there are also constraints due to which there is no expectation of Lebanese internal blast.

Armenian community of Lebanon has once experienced a civil war, and has extensive experience and immunity, and has even resorted to self-defense. There is a tension in Lebanon nowadays that can be supported from the outside.

“Lebanon is a country of communities, and each community can be influenced by the superpowers. Armenian community is one of the seven major communities of Lebanon. At the moment, the country has some of the socio-economic problems, which are also affected by the political situation in the country,” the editor said.

He also stressed the importance of the documents signed between the governments of Armenia and Lebanon, noting that this could be the impetus for the development of tourism between the two countries.
