The official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry posted that on December 4, in Ashgabat, the regular meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers took place. The participants of the meeting discussed current issues of multilateral cooperation and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and topics of the international agenda.

The draft Declaration on the further development of comprehensive cooperation was approved, it is going to be adopted at the upcoming December 5 meeting of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth.

Traditionally, considerable attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. The draft plan of priority actions in the field of humanitarian cooperation of the CIS in 2013-2014 was agreed upon.

The draft decision on the preparation for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 (World War II) was finalized and will be submitted for approval to the heads of states.

The draft agreements aimed to ensure the collective cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism, the development of military education were also approved.
