YEREVAN. – Within the framework of the 19th Session of the Foreign Affairs Ministers Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which is being held in Dublin, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian met with Ambassador Philippe Lefort, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia. 

They reflected on the results of European Commission President José Manuel Barroso’s recent visit to Armenia, and Armenia-EU cooperation, MFA press service informs. The EU special representative reaffirmed the EU’s readiness to assist the efforts by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, and the implementation of confidence-building measures between the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.   

Also, Armenia’s FM met with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier. They exchanged views on the agenda topics of the 19th Session of the OSCE Foreign Affairs Ministers Council, the Karabakh peace process, Armenia-OSCE cooperation, and activities of the OSCE Yerevan Office.  

During Edward Nalbandian’s meeting with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) President Riccardo Migliori, the interlocutors shared views on regional security, the parliamentary diplomacy to stimulate interaction among the OSCE states, and the efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In the context of Armenia’s presidential elections to be held next February, Migliori informed that he plans to personally head the OSCE PA observation mission.
