YEREVAN.- The key factor in Armenia’s presidential elections is talks between Serzh Sargsyan and Gagik Tsarukyan, political analyst says.

“Previously, there was confidence that Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan will run for president. Now, the likelihood is not that high,” Sergey Minasyan told reporters on Tuesday.

If Tsarukyan refuses to participate in the elections, incumbent president will get victory in the first round, he added.

Unless Tsarukyan is nominated, the main opposition candidate will be leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian.

“In this case the opposition will suffer considerable losses,” he emphasized.

As to Armenian National Congress leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the analyst deems he preferred to wait and not to hurry up.
