YEREVAN. – The parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should refrain from the additional tension of the situation, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov stated Friday, in Armenian capital city Yerevan, during his joint news conference with his Armenian, Polish, and Swedish counterparts.   

Calling the conflicting parties for peace, Mladenov noted that an unreasoned tension has risen at the conflict zone in recent months. He stressed the importance of the efforts to achieve piece for the region, and added that, as a result of the discussions that were held in Yerevan and Baku, prospects are sketched out toward reducing tension.      

Also, the Bulgarian FM reflected on the activities and proposals by the OSCE Minsk Group. “We hope to see results in a foreseeable future, and we call upon the parties to refrain from provoking statements and actions that aim to tense up the situation,” Nikolay Mladenov noted.
