Foreign loan obligations of commercial banks and credit organizations in Armenia at the end of the third quarter of 2012 amounted in about $1.06 billion, instead of $ 1.04 at the end of the previous quarter. This is stated in the newsletter of the third quarter of the Central Bank of Armenia.

During the third quarter of 2012, commercial banks and credit organizations attracted $700.1 million of foreign credits and made principal payments of $ 662.7 million for previous loans.

40.2% of loan proceeds were received from Russia, 27.9% from international organizations, 14.8% from Britain, 12.7% from Luxembourg, and so on.

Weighted average interest rate of loans involved late in the third quarter of 2012 compared with the end of the previous quarter fell to 5.9%. 45% of foreign loans are floating (LIBOR, EURIBOR, etc.).

Medium term loans are for 5 years. The share of short-term loans decreased to 7.7% of loans involved.
