According to Eurasian Economic Commission (EurAsEC) Board Chairman Viktor Khristenko, the Customs Union plans to sign cooperation agreements with Armenia in early 2013.

As the board chairman said during meetings with the Armenian president and prime minister in the framework of their latest visit, when they discussed cooperation formats, they agreed to compile a cooperation document between the Armenian government and EurAsEC. The document will probably be singed early next year.

On December 17, Khristenko and CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev signed a memorandum of cooperation between EurAsEC and the CIS Executive Committee. The document includes cooperation in the following areas: economics and finance, statistics, trade policy and simplifying trade procedures, technical regulation, standardization and uniformity of measurements, customs policy, transport and freight, migration policy, investment policy, competition policy, industrial and agricultural cooperation, and energy cooperation.

Cooperation will be implemented by authorized representatives. Consultations will be held at least once a year for joint progress discussions in specific areas of their joint cooperation.
