We need society’s assistance to eradicate crime, stated the Armenian presidential candidate, the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan in the course of the February 5 meeting with voters of Yerevan city Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, responding to a question about when the cases of shootings in Yerevan streets will completely stop.

As president noted, there are cases of shootings in all countries, and there is no country that has managed to fully overcome crime. As an example, Sargsyan mentioned the United States, where cases involving usage of weapons are much worse. In Russia and Europe, the situation is also far from perfect, Sargsyan said.

At the same time, the president stressed that Armenia has all the possibilities to reduce the crime to a minimum.

“According to tourists visiting Armenia, our capital is calm and comfortable. There are a few cities in the world where women and children can safely walk around at night, and enter cafes,” Sargsyan stressed.
