YEREVAN. – Armenian presidential contenders—namely, opposition Heritage Party Chairman, former FM Raffi Hovannisian; opposition National Self-Determination Union Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan; and opposition Freedom Party Chairman, former PM Hrant Bagratyan—are the lackeys of the authorities. Fellow presidential candidate, non-party affiliate, epic poetry specialist Vardan Sedrakyan stated this on Wednesday.      

He noted that the election campaign, which kicked off on January 21, can be called anything but free and independent.

Sedrakyan also complained that several television stations have not invited him.

“There is a clear instruction, which set aside the [ruling Republican Party candidate, incumbent] President [Serzh Sargsyan] and his three satellite candidates. The news media grasped the instruction very quickly, and [now] we have what we have,” he noted.

Vardan Sedrakyan also informed that even if he is elected president, he will not recognize the vote and not sign under its final protocol. The first thing he will do if he is elected into office, will be to dissolve the National assembly and to designate a new presidential election.     

He noted that he does not place a huge difference between Armenia’s three presidents as, according to Vardan Sedrakyan, all three are unmerited and equally to blame for the current situation in the country.
