YEREVAN.- Presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan, who has been wounded by a gunman, continues his campaign in Armenia’s regions after being discharged from hospital.

Speaking during the meetings in Aragatsotn Region, Hayrikyan said he had lost a lot of time because of assassination attempt.

“Unlike other candidates, I never say that Armenia will become a good country in five years. I tell you that you will be the owners of your country and fate in several months. You will have a reformed country in two years’ time,” he emphasized.

To note, an assassination attempt was made against presidential candidate, opposition National Self-Determination Union Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan, on January 31 at around 11:20pm in downtown Yerevan, in front of his home. Hayrikyan was shot and hospitalized with a gunshot wound. He underwent a successful surgery.

Last week, formerly convicted Khachatur Poghosyan (born in 1966), and Samvel Harutyunyan (born in 1972) were arrested on suspicion of carrying out an assassination attempt against Paruyr Hayrikyan.
