YEREVAN. – A bizarre incident occurred during the ruling Republican Party presidential candidate, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan’s talk with the voters at Aparan city, which was held at the cultural home of the city, Zhoghovurd daily reports.  

“A participant in the meeting told Zhoghovurd that Sargsyan’s security personnel did not allow the Aparan residents to approach the presidential candidate. They even closed the doors of the palace of culture and announced they will open the doors once the president sits in his vehicle and leaves.     

When people are asked why they are behaving in this way, the bodyguards with earphones stated they are doing this for Sargsyan’s safety.

Thus, the Aparan residents were able to come out of the palace of culture solely after Sargsyan’s departure,” Zhoghovurd writes.
