YEREVAN. – The banks in Armenia purchased $85 million and sold $86 million in the passing week, the Central Bank reports. To note, this is one of the lowest indicators in Armenia for a weekly sale of the US national currency within the past one year.     

The passing weeks’ trading totaled $17,5 million, at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange, and this was conducted at an average exchange rate of AMD 406.62/$1.

Also, the passing week in Armenia’s financial market saw a sharp fall in the offer for the euro. The banks purchased solely €4.9 million, at the exchange offices, but sold €13.9 million. 

The loans, which the banks provided—from February 4 to 10—in Armenian drams, comprised AMD 29 billion (approx. $70 million), and the loans in dollar constituted $39.1 million. Such volume (approx. $110 million) of weekly loans is an average indicator.
