YEREVAN. – Armenian government is trying to help not only the border villages, but also the agriculture in general, stressed at a meeting with voters in Kentron administrative district of Yerevan city the presidential candidate and incumbent President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

As for specific help for bordering villages, according to the president, they are exempt from the tax on land and partly on water.

“This concerns villages that are under constant fire,” he said.

Speaking of the agricultural economy as a whole, the President noted that for several years the program on providing discounted fuel for rural regions works.

“Last year, there were no problems with product sales, the issue of technologies remains. It seems that after these issues are solved, there should be no other problems with agriculture, but there are other problems in the villages - repair and renovation of school buildings, roads and other timely issues,” the president said.

Recall that today, on February 16, was the last day of campaigning for the presidential elections in Armenia, the Presidential Election Day is scheduled in Armenia for February 18.
