YEREVAN. – Armenian Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan denies the news that the stamps, which are placed on the voters’ passports after having cast their ballots during Monday’s presidential election, can be removed by using a moist napkin, or with a slight stroke of a moist finger.    

“You can test [this] with numerous ways. I voted, [and] I came [back]; it does not affect in any way. If you have to do a variety of experiments on the passport, that is an impalpable phenomenon,” Mukuchyan noted.   

To the query as to whether he rules out that the stamps could be removed from the passports by way of the aforementioned methods, the CEC chef responded: “You can always find a material and remove [the stamp].” But he added that the stamp in his own passport could not be removed by way of these methods. 

To note, however, the same experiment was conducted with the passports of two Armenian News-NEWS.am employees who already had cast their ballots, and, as a result, the stamps disappeared with a slight stroke of a moist finger.
