YEREVAN. – Armenian presidential candidate, opposition National Self-Determination Union Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan—who was discharged on February 11 from capital city Yerevan’s Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center after being treated for a gunshot wound following an assassination attempt—is back in the hospital as of Monday. 

Hayrikyan spent last night at the center, he was examined in the morning, and he still has pain in his right hand, Center Deputy Director Gagik Manukyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

In his words, Hayrikyan’s physiotherapy is still in progress, and he is receiving treatment to reduce the pain in his right hand. 

Manukyan added, however, that Hayrikyan had informed that he needs to leave the hospital for one hour, to cast his ballot in Monday’s presidential election, and that he will return. It is yet unknown whether the presidential candidate will spend Monday night likewise at the center.   

To note, Paruyr Hayrikyan is expected to vote in Goghtn village.
