YEREVAN. - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) verified the 50 reports of violations registered during the voting in presidential elections, the head of CEC legal department Nune Hovhannisyan said.

In connection with the reports of mass ballot stuffing, she noted:

“We contacted the head of that election commission and we were assured that ballot box stuffing did not happen. A woman simply tried to vote both for herself and for her sick mother. This attempt was prevented.”

According to Hovhannisyan, an attempt of open voting was also recorded, which was stopped in time.

Massive cases of ballot stuffing were reported by the campaign headquarters of presidential candidates.

Armenia is holding presidential elections. At 8am local time 1988 polling stations opened in 41 election districts. The vote will end at 8pm.
