YEREVAN. – There will be no problem or contradiction regarding the Association Agreement and the existing military-strategic and political relations between Armenia and Russia, expert Sergey Minasyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
According to him, Armenia, as well as Moldova and Georgia, in fact have to choose between signing the EU Association Agreement or not.
He believes that the dynamics of talks and comments from Brussels and Moscow shows that they both accept Armenia’s quite argumentative position.
“It is obvious that in case of the Association Agreement there are objective geographic problems but at the same time from the military-strategic security view, Armenia more prefers cooperation with the CSTO and bilateral relations,” Minasyan emphasized.
He also added that the EU agreement may give Armenia financial and economic resources, which is not fully ensured within the CSTO.
“This policy refers to wider complementary policy, which Armenia has been realizing for twenty years,” he concluded.
