YEREVAN. – There are no losers or winners in democratic elections, as we have all won and the society of Armenia first of all, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) secretary Edward Sharmazanov told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on the opposition Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian’s claims that Hovhannisian has not won and RPA leader Serzh Sargsyan has not lost, while people won expressing their free will during the elections.

“The Armenian society along with winning has casted its victorious vote for the incumbent President,” Sharmazanov said adding it was mainly due to the political will of the authorities that democratic, free, fair and transparent elections were organized. “Along with the Armenian society winning, that society has casted its victorious voice for the incumbent President.”

Earlier the agency reported that Hovannisian has claimed that the elections were over that Armenian people are celebrating their victory and it is known to all.

“Raffi did not win and Serzh did not lose, the people won, expressing their will in the election. Our people deserve a de jure elected president,” said Hovhannisian.
