YEREVAN. – Opposition Armenian Heritage party leader and presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian has posted a statement on his Facebook page calling people not to be in panic, not to go to the precincts at night and to refrain from provocations.

“Raffi Hovannisian’s position is firm. We have trusted persons in case of necessity. There is a danger that some people may organize provocations and throw shadow on Hovannisian. Remember election campaign period and be alert, calm and balanced,” the post reads.

To note, according to the exit poll, the incumbent Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has already won the elections in the first round, while the Gallop Organization claims that the incumbent president has received the 58 percent of the respondents’ votes. The opposition candidate, Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian occupies the second place, while former PM Hrant Bagratyan and National Self-Determination Union head Paruyr Hayrikyan received about 3 percent each occupying the third and fourth places.
