YEREVAN.- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has not received any written complaints in connection with the February 18 presidential elections, CEC head said on Tuesday.

“During the day, reports appeared on different websites. CEC, Police and Prosecutor General’s Office traced the reports in an attempt to verify information,” Tigran Mukuchyan said.

In some cases the reports appeared to be untrue. Mukuchyan underscored importance of tracing the information flow as it helps to react immediately.

Preliminary results issued by Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission showed incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan received 58.64%, while his closest rival Raffi Hovannisian -36.74. The voter turnout reached 1, 521, 931.
