YEREVAN.- There have been clear improvements in Armenia’s electoral process since the previous presidential elections, head of PACE delegation Karin Woldseth said in Yerevan.

She noted that progress has been registered in many areas, including the media environment and the legal framework.

The turnout reaching 60-64% proved the people displayed will to hold democratic elections, she said during the Tuesday press conference.

She said among the main concerns was misuse of administrative resources. Nevertheless, the elections were smooth, although incidents with disappearing ink were registered.

Karin Woldseth called elections competitive, saying it was proved by percent of votes received by Serzh Sargsyan (58%) and Raffi Hovannisian (36%) as well as number of candidates.
