YEREVAN.- Heritage appeared to be number one opposition force in Armenia, ruling party MP said.

Member of the Republican Party of Armenia Gagik Melikyan considers there are political forces trying to persuade Heritage Party and its leader Raffi Hovannisian to certain actions which will not lead to positive results.

Preliminary results showed Raffi Hovannisian got 36.75 percent of votes in presidential elections.

“Hovannisian is a serious politician and he must try to make his position firm as a serious opposition force. He showed good results, polling 43 percent in Yerevan. If he preserves his positions during the local elections, we will state dramatic changes in Armenia’s domestic policy,” Minasyan told reporters.
