YEREVAN. – The third and fourth presidents of Armenia have met on Thursday, opposition Heritage Party Board Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan stated during a press conference on Friday.

“[Heritage’s leader] Raffi Hovannisian [who became the runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Sargsyan, in Monday’s presidential election, but he claims to be the real winner in the vote] has said we want a smooth procedure of power transfer. We consider necessary for the vote cast by the people to reach its destination,” he said.

Martirosyan also informed that he met with Hovannisian, on Thursday evening, and the Heritage leader had said he will present during Friday’s rally the details of his Thursday afternoon talk with Sargsyan.

“Hovannisian will continue his efforts in the name of the vote, [and] the confidence by the people, and the Republic of Armenia. I hope the third and fourth presidents will implement measures that will keep our society away from the processes of separation,” Martirosyan stated.

Incidentally, during the press conference the Heritage Party Board vice-chairman was drinking water from a mug that read “Toward a Secure Armenia,” which was Serzh Sargsyan’s campaign slogan. Following the news conference, Armen Martirosyan took this mug along and stressed that they will be the ones to build the “Toward a Secure Armenia.”
