YEREVAN. – The incidents that occurred in Khojaly on February 25–26, 1992 were orchestrated by the Azerbaijanis themselves, and Armenians have nothing to do with them, Nagorno-Karabakh war hero, Major General Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan staid during a press conference on Friday.  

“Another proof of this is [the fact] that, even though they had not asked us [about them], the Azerbaijani party informed the names of the victims two days after the incident. In addition, according to Muslim laws, the dead must be buried the same day, but the Azerbaijanis had kept them [unburied] intentionally to show,” Ter-Tadevosyan stressed.    

The General also noted that Azerbaijan makes use of this tragedy, which was set up by the Azerbaijanis themselves, to carry out an anti-Armenian propaganda.    

“At the time, [then Azerbaijani president] Heydar Aliyev was speaking about ‘one-thousand victims;’ this is the [Nazi Germany’s Propaganda Minister Joseph] Goebbels propaganda [principle]. And the ‘caviar’ diplomacy enables to achieve the recognition of the ‘Khojaly Genocide’ in several countries,” Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan stated.
