YEREVAN. – The 18th special congress of opposition Armenian National Movement (ANM) party got underway on Saturday (photos).

The congress delegates were distributed a draft decision, according to which ANM is joining the initiative to form the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) party and, as a result, it will be renamed Armenian National Congress Party. 

The aforesaid draft decision notes, however, that it will continue to be the successor of the Armenian National Movement, and the respective restructuring is carried out on the basis of the proposals which the ANC party creation initiative group has forwarded to the ANM congress.       

To note, First President, and opposition bloc Armenian National Congress leader, Levon Ter-Petrosyan likewise is expected to be on hand at the special convention of the Armenian National Movement party.
