YEREVAN. – Wednesday is already the third day that a group of Armenian youth, who are dissatisfied by the results of the presidential election that was conducted on February 18, are holding demonstrations in front of several capital city Yerevan universities, and are calling upon the students to boycott classes.

These youth, who were holding banners and making calls, gathered across the main building of Yerevan State University (YSU) on Wednesday, as well. And, just like on Tuesday, an argument broke out between the demonstrators and the YSU assistant rector and the chief of staff. The YSU officials demanded from the activists that they vacate the premises and not disturb the classes.

Subsequently, the young demonstrators headed toward several other institutions of higher education.

An incident occurred at the State Agrarian University of Armenia (SAUA), too. A number of SAUA students and lecturers met the demonstrators in front of the university and shouted, “Leave!” Also, an anti-boycott protester hit a female news reporter.

Numerous police officers are overseeing the protests that are staged before the universities.
