YEREVAN. – A total of 61,500 unemployed are officially registered in Armenia for January 2013, but this figure is 8.9-percent less than in January 2012, the National Statistical Service reports.

The number of unemployed in the country also fell—by 1.4 percent, or by 900 people—as compared to December 2012.

Also, 44,800—or 72.8 percent—of the currently unemployed are women. But the female unemployment rate has dropped by 6.3 percent as compared to January of the year past.
