Eastern part of Turkey is marked by another color and presented as Kurdistan in the textbooks of private publishing house in the Turkish city of Konya.

According to Hurriyet daily, the book with tests for fourth form schoolchildren has questions and information on various fields, including geography. The map at the118th page depicts eastern part of Turkey as Kurdistan which is marked green. Interestingly, book was recommended to the pupils who also took an exam based on the textbook.

The company engaged in preparing tests apologized to Turkish people for oversight. Company’s representative Akin Yuksel noted that map was downloaded from the Internet and they overlooked the error due to its small size.
