YEREVAN.- In 2008 it was obvious that the developments will lead to victims, head of ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group Armen Rustamyan told briefing on Friday.

His remark came in response to a question why they did not join the opposition back in 2008. He noted that ARFD held a series of rallies, saying everything may lead to bloodshed.

“We said that nothing good will come of it. Weren’t we right? Who will answer for the lives of 10 people who fell victims of the March 1, 2008 events?”

In response to a question why they joined the opposition this time, Rustamyan said that they came to Liberty Square because there are many people there.

“Secondly, we have prospect to solve the problems by constitutional means,” he emphasized.

Amid post-election processes of 2008, ARF Dashnaktsutyun joined the ruling coalition and supported authorities. The party left ruling coalition only in 2009, as a sign of protest against Armenia-Turkey protocols.
