YEREVAN.- Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian issued an article to mark Diplomat’s Day set for March 2.
In his article published in Hayastani Hanrapetytyun newspaper, Nalbandian said a flag raised in front of the UN Headquarters on March 2, 1992, marked birth of a new independent Armenian state.
At the moment Armenia has diplomatic relations with 157 states and is member of 87 international organizations. Armenia has 61 diplomatic representations abroad, while 58 foreign diplomatic missions and international representations are functioning in the country. Armenia has concluded 1,744 agreements with the international organizations.
“Armenia continues its initiative policy aimed at implementation of the interests of our country and people, contributing to resisting the global challenges, and problem solving, creating a more peaceful, secure and decent future,” the Minister said.
