YEREVAN. – The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) launched partial proceedings on the petition that was filed by former political prisoner, opposition Armenian National Congress member, Davit Matevosyan, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports. 

“The former political prisoner was in prison for one and a half years, from March 1, 2008 to June 20, 2009.

Proceedings were launched on Matevosyan’s petition on the grounds of violation of the right to a fair trial. That is, proceedings were launched with respect to the primary key part of Matevosyan’s petition,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
