YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party will run in the capital city Yerevan Council election—which is slated for May 5—in a very organized fashion, and everything possible will be done to ensure the maximum number of votes. National Assembly ARF Faction Secretary Aghvan Vardanyan stated this during a press conference on Tuesday.

According to Vardanyan, the election campaign and the party’s outlook will convince the constituents to vote for ARF.

“This is a matter of honor and responsibility for us,” he noted.

To the query as why the political forces—including ARF—are not in a hurry to submit their lists to the Central Electoral Commission even though the deadline for submitting applications is Thursday, Vardanyan noted that, in all likelihood, each political force has technical problems.

“The lists are large; all necessary documents need to be gathered. [But] I believe all will submit the necessary documents on time,” Aghvan Vardanyan said.
